Do All You Can

Living in a big city like Toronto is so crazy. Sometimes I still can't believe that I live here! Over this past weekend was the MMVA's (or the Much Music Video Awards, for those unfamiliar), which I have watched on TV in my tiny town for years, dreaming about how amazing it would be to actually be there and see everything! And guess what. This weekend, I went downtown to see the MMVA's! Except I didn't end up getting to watch the show there. In the past, you've need a wristband to get in the audience, but people could stand and watch behind the fences that they put up even if you didn't have a wristband, which was my plan. Unfortunately though, there were some people who got a little crazy and rowdy, so the security guards had to cover the fence so we couldn't see. It was still so insane to see the stages set up though, and we actually got to watch the rehearsals of Imagine Dragons, Ariana Grande, and Magic! We saw Kendall and Kylie too! So it was definitely worth going down to see it, and we even walked away with some free stuff!
Anyway, this is what I wore! I thought I'd take a risk, by going for more of a gothic look.

The heels seem a little crazy, but they were necessary. Without them, I wouldn't have been able to see anything since I'm so short. I did bring flats with me though, so I was changing my shoes whenever my feet started to hurt!

To Be Alive

Risk-taking is, of course, one of the scariest things about life, but it's necessary. Without taking risks, one would never grow, would they? When I put this outfit together, I started with the skirt. I love this skirt; how the fabric falls, the layers, and of course the color! At first I was tempted to wear a black shirt with it as I usually would when I wear a bright color. But then I put on a purple shirt. I took a risk, by putting two jewel tones together. It was scary (not the scariest of risks, I know), but I was a bit uncomfortable all day. I'm so used to wearing black that color feels weird on me. I'm glad I did it though, because change is good!

Speaking of risks, (shameless plug coming up!) I took one yesterday and started a YouTube channel! If you'd like to check it out, you can visit my channel, InTheLandOfStlye, by clicking right here!!!

A Great Accomplishment

In the history of my blog, I can't remember a time that I've managed to post an outfit on the same day that I actually wore it. There are firsts for everything though, because I've finally done it! I feel so accomplished; here's hoping I can keep it up.
This is what I wore to college today!

This vintage dressing gown thing (I'm not quite sure what to call it, but this is what was on the tag!)has been a recent favourite of mine. I bought it a couple of weeks ago at this really beautiful vintage store in downtown Toronto, and I wear it so often!

Time Changes Everything

Long time, no blog. A lot of time has passed, and a lot of things have changed. The most obvious being my hair, which isn't even green anymore. It's now pink! But in the time that I've been away from blogging, I've moved to Saskatchewan, moved back to Nova Scotia, then moved to Toronto to start college. All of these changes have happened so fast, but I've been adjusting pretty well. I do miss my garden though. We'll just have to deal with some plain white walls for a background until I can find somewhere better.

I've changed so much since moving to Toronto. I never thought that I'd be able to do half of the things that I do here, including learning how to take buses and subways (and taking them by myself)and dying all of my hair a weird color. But surprisingly, I did.
