If I'd Observed All The Rules

Something I've always done is follow the rules. Followed what my parents told me to do, or not do. But now that I'm 18 and I've out of high school for almost a year, it's time for me to start making my own decisions, right? While I do feel this way, I can't bring myself to go against my parents. They think that since I won't be going to school in September, I should stay at home and work for another year. And I do see where they're coming from, since that would be the smart thing to do financially. But. The thing that they have never understood, is that being in a small town is stifling to me. Everyday feels like a waste here. I need to be in a city, I belong in cities. I need the people rushing, traffic jams, culture, fashion, inspiration. I don't belong in this tiny town, and I need to get out. But I don't know how to convince my parents of this, because they just don't understand. And I need them to be on my side. Because I've always listened to them, I don't think I could do it without their approval.

But maybe I should be more like Marilyn, and not listen to rules. I'm obviously not getting anywhere this way.

The snow is finally starting to melt here, and I'm so excited for spring, and then summer! Seriously, all I can think about is laying in the sun, reading books, and sipping iced tea... I can't wait!!!

I'm so in love with this fuzzy sweater! It's so warm and cozy, and when I saw it in the store, I knew I had to have it. I've been wearing it so much lately, I think I should get a few more, and start a collection!

 

I am still completely in love with the High-Low skirt trend. They're so fun, and pretty! This leopard print one is the perfect addition to my collection, and I know I'll be getting a lot of wear from it!

All Is Flux

A quote about change seems the most appropriate for this post. As you may or may not have noticed (and I do hope you have) my blog has changed in appearance! I've given it a little makeover. Nothing too crazy, but I think it looks much better, and maybe a little more.. professional?

 

This is how I looked Wednesday evening, to go out for dessert with my best friend. I couldn't resist wearing this gorgeous galaxy print blouse again, and I loved how well it went with my velvet leggings, that I paired it with this skirt!

Today, Nova Scotia is in complete blizzard mode, so I've been spending the entire day in my pyjamas, hoping that the power doesn't go out! I hope we doen't end up getting the 50 inches of snow that was forecasted!

A Billion Stars Go Spinning Through The Night

I'm not the sort of person who likes to wear pants. I prefer skirts and dresses, but it's obviously a bit of a challenge to keep warm during cold winter days without putting on pants. So I wore tights with this dress, and added over the knee sock for a extra warmth! And I think I love the way it looks.
